Sure she can – given the right bundle of talents
The big questions is, what are those talents? What unique combination of social skill, writing ability and marketing acumen makes someone perfect?

What do you think those talents are? What makes a great Community Manager?
What tips would you give a Mom Blogger who wants to make that jump?

I think some people are natural born connectors. They seem to have the ability to put two people together who need to meet up and are great at networking. I think in order to be a great community manager, they would need this skill.
Also the ability to keep a virtual finger on the pulse of what’s going on – the collective conversation of the internet for their niche would be very important too.

A community manager shoudl be one who is able to use different tones or way of speaking to connect with people on various levels. To be able to make one feel comfortable to open up to and share their thoughts/worries with. To be able to jot down mental notes about the little things about others which can help to make the day better. She also must be able to multitask and be forward thinking about what she does in relation to others. I know that I’m still far from being able to communicate well with others on many different levels.

I have trouble communicating my thoughts and feelings online, I feel that people take me the wrong way when I blog personal BUT I am in the works to start blogging and networking for a Big Name Television series online… just waiting on the legal mombo jumbo to go through!
I am excited at the thought of this prospect. I think it takes good networking skills, which I have, and spell check LOL, and the ability to reach people and bring them in.
Organization is the key to any good management position, community or otherwise. Plan everything and make sure you are well organized so that everything runs smoothly. People are less likely to complain and more likely to consider you reliable.
Mom Bloggers can be perfect community managers. Blogging is all about using social skills, networking and writing in order to bring together just the right people to fulfill the need, whether it be networking to give another blogger a boost or connecting IT people. graphic designers, writers and others to create a number one website that will sell a product.
I think as mothers we have learned how to multitask as a matter of necessity and mothers have long networked for the many different components of parenting. Bloggers learn how to rally the troops and point one another to question, answers and debates on the topic at hand. Mommy Bloggers have that perfect ability to speak to each other on a level of understanding, compassion and drive as we help each other build our businesses and change our lives.
To make the jump, I would suggest rounding up some testimonials from others who have seen you at your best, gathering up your best writing and then making connections through the blogging community to find the perfect opening.
One of the greatest marketing tools we have available to us is Twitter. It is astounding the connections that are made on Twitter every day.
Looking to make any kind of professional jump from your blogging duties- tweet your little heart out and reach out and ask for help. Be yourself- in all your glory- and you’ll be amazed at the doors that will open.

Be able to be a brand evangelist to the community you serve, but do it with integrity. People can see right through you if you don’t have real passion for what you promote.

A Community Manager should be able to listen to all sides of a situation and appreciate where each individual is without getting too involved in taking sides. By providing support and listening without judgment or suggestion in a potentially combative or negative situation, the manager is able to diffuse the situation.
As Kelly mentioned, there should also be a genuine passion and interest in the topic and community – a desire to stay up to date and moving forward with the topic and members.
I also think that the ability to widen back and see the bigger picture of the community and allow others to help facilitate allows the manager to empower others to take leadership roles within the community. A community is gathering of many people each contributing and a good manager sees value in contributions from others vs. ruling the roost.
