It is VERY important!
As I just told my blogging intern in a recent email:
“Commenting on other blogs is very important when you’re building up a blog. It shows other bloggers that you’re interested in them and that you are willing to be part of the community. It builds links to your blog which is important for search engine ranking down the road. It also introduces new people to you.”
How much emphasis do you put on commenting on other blogs? Do you make it a priority?

I do think it is very important to comment on blogs. I don’t make it a priority to comment on every blog post though, only ones that strike me to comment. But I do make it a priority to read through the blogs I like and can learn from

I find that commenting is one of the very most important actions you can take to further your own blogs success. You must be connecting with others, giving that comment love back to your commenters and growing those friendships.

I put it as a very high priority. Unfortunately I don’t feel I’ve been keeping up with it enough. I need to make sure and write a block out of my schedule each week to hit my favorite blogs. Google feedreader makes that so much easier for me.

I do comment on other blogs that catch my attention because I think that if it interests me I should let someone know. Of course the part where you add your website or email address for the writer to see, lets them know who the audience is too. You can suppport each other this way.

I make it a point to consistently comment on blogs. I wish more of those bloggers would turn around and do the same on my blog but I don’t see that happen too often, not yet anyway. But I think it’s a great way to get to know others too. That is how a lot of my readers found me so it’s all good.
I usually try to comment on entries that I read…even if it’s something short.

I comment on most of the blogs I enjoy and I feel that it is very important. However, I’m not sure if this should be a priority. It can take me all day to read and comment on blogs. How do I manage commenting and my own blog.

I’ve been blogging off and on since 2000, but never had a steady blog like RIS until now. ’00 was the livejournal days before blogging really became a medium, more like an online journal. Once blogs became more than just journals, I loved commenting. I love how a small group of avid blog readers can even have running discussions with each other via blog comments. The extra traffic? That’s a bonus to building friendships.

Commenting is so important! I try to comment as time allows me. I also remember the Golden Rule – Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you. I want comments so I should give comments just as freely.

Commenting is very important to me. I try to do it when I visit blogs. I think it’s RUDE to just read someone’s blog then, bounce.
