Okay, so here’s the thing. I have my site all ready to go, I’m primed and ready to make money on my blog. I have readers, I have stats, I have loads of stories. Iknow what my blog is about…
But I’m stuck! I don’t know where to go from here, I don’t know what my next step would be?
- Should I try to blog every single day?
- Maybe try to find a big blog somewhere that might let me do a guest post?
- Should I just keep learning more about my statistics?
- Could I find some sort of affiliate program or ad program that might work for me?
- Should I do a complete site redesign?
I’m asking you the readers to help me in the next step. What would you do if you were sitting on my blog?

Jamie – I’m still building up my readership and want to get to this point – I’m anxious to see what everyone has to say! There is so much info out there and knowing what to do – and when – seems overwhelming for me… Thanks for asking these questions – and I hope you see lots of great answers!
I would definitely say YES to guest posting. For more tips visit http://www.problogger.com They have some great ideas!
The amount of posting you do is entirely up to you, but if it was a choice between quantity or quality, I would go with quality.

“Where to go from here?” Just start writing…daily if you can. Yes guest post everywhere you can and ask for guest posters. Your design is nice, but I would take off the ad at the very top, you want your brand to show before anything else (my opinion). As for additional ads (you have a ton already!), if you are looking for businesses to pay you to put their ad up, just start contacting businesses you sincerely would like to promote, then ask them if they would be willing to sponsor your site. Have a contract before you start approaching them (rates/guidelines/size of ads, etc.) The general rule of thumb is to charge $2-4 per 1000 pageviews per month, but it doesn’t mean you’ll get it, so think hard before establishing your rates.
Hope this is helpful!

See, I am at this point too!! One of the main things I want to do is start including more regular posts into my review site to make it feel more real. I find people enjoy the mixed posts more than just reviews. And I would love to guest post. I did a whole week of guest posters on my site and I loved getting the traffic and having people come and say hi to me who wouldn’t normally visit my site. But basically I’m stuck!
Great question!! I want to know the answer too. I am still building my readership as well. I need to know this for the future!
I have an idea! Think WAY outside of the box.
Set a crazy goal for yourself every month and ask for other moms/bloggers to help. We’re a helpful bunch!
You could have a goal of 1000 comments in 1 month. Or a goal of getting featured in a major bloggers post…whatever! Do something random for your goal and promote it in a fun and spirited way and I believe you will get tons of twitterers/bloggers/readers to respond. Look at what Ashton, did. Be creative!

I had another idea! It’s great to promote yourself on the web, but what about in print magazines. Try to get an article published in a national print magazine where they allow you to put your website link in the byline.
