I read lots of great ideas last week as I implemented my three four tips for learning from blog conferences.
Some of those ideas came from an interview I had the privilege of doing with April Atwater.
April recently attended her first blog conference, Mom 2.0 Summit and shared the following things she had learned:
What tips do you have for first time blog conference attenders?
It is best to stay in the hotel where the conference takes place or one that is very close. There is a lot of in between conference networking that takes place so it is good to be where everyone else is staying.
Did you have a sponsor for this conference? If so, how did you find the sponsor?
I had two sponsors for this conference. I contacted companies I had already worked with and let them know what I could offer them if they sponsored me.
Name one thing you learned about blogging, social media, or marketing that you plan to implement.
Guy Kawasaki gave some great twitter hints. I will be implementing all of his tips including having my blog post tweeted.
Was Mom 2.0 Summit (or any conference) worth your time and money? Do you recommend I go?
This was very much worth the time and money. I made connections with many people including PR reps, businesses and fellow bloggers.
How will Mom 2.0 Summit change your blogging and blog?
I will now be offering consulting for fellow bloggers to help them further the business side of their blog.
Thank you, April, for some terrific ideas. Be sure to visit April’s blog, Sweet Life in the Valley, to see pictures of the fun she had at Mom 2.0 Summit.
Before you visit April, I’m wondering, what have YOU learned from the recent conferences? Please share with all of us in the comments!

Great post Stephanie! I have never attended a conference like that, and can’t see myself doing it in the foreseeable future, but I will keep these little gems in the back of my mind for when I do
