Profitable Mommy Blogging Contributer Alaina Frederick is the mommy behind Dinker and Giggles which is celebrating it’s first anniversary with a big contest giveaway.
I asked Alaina if I could ask her a few questions 
Alaina, you are celebrating your one year blog anniversary, what made you decide to have a celebration about this?
There was actually two reasons- One it’s a big deal for a website to make it 6 months let alone 12 so it was a great milestone marker for me. The second was I wanted something big to help motivate me even more to provide that refreshing information for parents.
Looking back one year – what were your hopes for your blog?
I actually started the blog to support my online retail store. My hopes were to be able to tell moms more about the great products I had found in my hours and days and weeks of researching for the best of the best.
Is there one big lesson that you’ve learned this year that you would share with other mom bloggers?
The biggest lesson I have learned is really simple yet huge at the same time- You will never know until you try! How was I to know a year ago that this little ’support’ blog to my retail store would be so much fun. Also, I would have never have meet the wonderful moms that I have over the last 12 months without doing this blog. It really was worth the try!
How are you monetization efforts going?
It took a few months for me to be able to make enough passive income to pay for my hosting, but it was a fun 3 months. I am still learning new things every day. And it has been quite an adventure as the blog has proved to be more profitable then my online retail store. I have plans on working over the next few weeks to continue my efforts in doing some things mentioned on Profitable Mommy Blogging as well as on Mom Masterminds. Some things include using text links instead of just graphics for my affiliates, better categories, and of course the key lots and lots of fresh incredible content.
What’s your blogging goal for the next year?
Over the next year I hope to reach 1,000 posts and 2,000 subscribers. I also hope to be making 10x a month what I am currently. In order for me to reach this I have to continue with activties like the contests and great product reviews for families. I also hope to continue to get wonderful feedback from my readers. The reader feedback is what keeps me going towards my goals.
