I actually don’t mind a Mom blog having a review or two on the main blog here and there. And with blogs like naturemoms.com/blog where I’m learning about things (it isn’t about her daily Mom life per say, but rather how to be green) I love and appreciate reviews.
What I don’t get are all the many many blogs just for reviews. I’m surprised they have a large following. I don’t like going to a blog full of reviews and only reviews. And what makes one better than another? Maybe if more Moms would pick a niche and create a review blog around that one niche then I’d be more apt to follow that type of review blog.
My two cents on review blogs.

Great podcast.
I think many of the review bloggers do it because of the potential of free products and nothing more. A lot of the review bloggers have great giveaways so I assume that is why they have a big following. Just some thoughts.
Looking forward to hearing from Jennifer on this podcast again.

Nell, thank you for pointing out what I also noticed, there are so many mommy blogs full of reviews! I was very surprised about that once I looked at other blogs for research (I just started my own, no cute name, just DagmarBleasdale.com). I want to be a resource for other moms, not just a mom who tries to sell them something! And what is up with “awarding” each other awards?
