I love this show. It is exactly what I need. While I have great ranking, traffic and a huge list, I’m not as profitable as I’d like to be and you are clearly going to slay some myths and help us distinguish between what is fun, traffic producing and profitable.

I’d love to come on, at some point and talk about the pros and cons of using a 3rd party platform like squarespace or typepad. I’m experienced in both and I’ll give a fair and balanced perspective.

I use Entrecard and it has it’s benefits but I don’t think it’s useful for monetizing directly. It’s more useful for traffic/branding. It can be very time consuming, so I limit how much time I spend on it a day and I target blogs that would potential be my readers – so when they visit me back, they learn a little about our blog. Then, I use the credits I earn to “buy” ad space on other blogs. So yeah, exposure and traffic has been beneficial which I suppose could be turned into monetization if you funneled it right.

Good first show. And great advice from you Kelly. I’m excited about this podcast because I just know lots of Mommy Bloggers eyes will be opened to what works and what usually doesn’t work when you’re trying to make money online.

I have had some good traffic with Entrecard, some who have even subscribed to my blog. And I hardly ever have time to go llok at other blogs thru them but the few times I have, I have found several blogs that I now subscribe to. So I think it's a good traffic resource. Also, above Angie questioned about whether you can control what blog shows up on yours & yes you control that. You accept or reject any potential advertisers yourself. Great show ladies. I'm excited about listening in on a regular basis because I need to learn all I can about profitable blogging. As for my opinion on Entrecard, I have seen them all over and have even clicked a few BUT I'm not sure why I would want it on my site if it's potentially going to take my visitor's away from my blog. Plus, I assume you cannot control what blog pops up on the screen and I wouldn't want my readers to have to see something inappropriate, that is for sure. Hopefully Entrecard manages that though. I don't know, I try hard to keep my blog on topic to weight loss/fitness and living a healthy lifestyle so I wouldn't want a blog to show up on Entrecard that has nothing to do with my niche. I guess I could try it out on my personal blog but it never really interested me as with other link exchanges. Just some of my thoughts. Looking forward to the next show.
