You may think it strange that I picked the meme about marriage for this blog. Bear with me, I hope it will make sense.
Before I started this internship, before I even filled out the application, I talked it over with my husband. I knew there would be more time demands on me and more things that would not get done. I needed him to be okay with that because, to me, bringing in tons of money would mean nothing if my husband/marriage was not happy. Not that I’m bringing in tons of money, but you get the idea.
I want to encourage you to put your marriage above your business. Sometimes, it’s tempting for me to just keep online things to myself because it’s harder to explain to him anyways. It’s a part of my life that’s important to me right now and it needs to be shared with my husband.
Don’t let your online friends push away the friend that you married.

Thanks for linking up to me! And I totally agree!
Your business is important. But your marriage comes first. Why else are you building a business, except to give your life some stability? But if you don’t have a life because your marriage is gone, you will ultimately end up with nothing.
So go kiss your husband!

So true! I talked to my husband as well about the internship. I knew it would be fine but I talked to him anyway. It is hard sometimes when you are trying to get a business going to put your marriage first but it is so important. My husband actually went on a date last night. It has been a long time since we did that and it was great!

You are so right. I would prefer to be broke than be in an unhappy relationship. Hubby is very much apart of my online life. He reads my blog and even gets on me if I don’t post. With all that I have learned I am able to help him with his website for his business. It’s so easy to get caught up in your own world. We have to remember that we have a world offline too.

Sheila’s blog rocks! I’ve discovered it since interning with Moms Talk Network. Money means nothing to me if my marriage is not in great shape! What’s the point? Sure, I’d like to help out and have spending money – but when my focus is more on my computer and less on my family – WE. ALL. SUFFER. Period.
Great meme! Good choice!

It’s been difficult to do the internship and give my hubby the attention he deserves, but that’s why we planned dates every couple of weeks to get me away from the computer! Plus, we always have our little nightly chat, which helps.

I just wanted to say thanks for writing this. My husband and I both are in the middle of starting online blogs and businesses and it’s been stressful on our marriage. Your post really put my feelings into words, thank you so much!
